About me

I am Fred Wetzels and I create art from glass. I only create from my own design, which is always unique. I am a true craftsman and I use different styles and techniques. For me it is most important to be able to follow my heart to create a piece.

The inner urge to connect pieces of glass with different techniques like stained glass, copper foil and fusing of glass. I really love the way the light shines through the glass, which next to the use of colour, makes my pieces lively and recognizable. If necessary I am able to use additional techniques or materials to make the art pieces even more expressive.

Through glass art I express my ideas, thoughts and feelings.

I am continuously inspired by my surroundings, observations or images that come bubbling up from within me.

What’s really important to me is that I create the art pieces exclusively with positive energy. I create from a passion and will not be lead by time (pressure) or external influences that limit the creative process. In my opinion that is what contributes to the quality and uniqueness of my glass art pieces.

I love creating art that sits in front of a window or glass objects for the home or garden.

Whether or not my art appeals to you is a matter of taste, but because of the diversity and quality of my art am I convinced that you can find multiple pieces on my website that you like or find inspiring.
